Finally legislatures do something about child exploitation. Human trafficking, child pornography, early marriages, under-age girls held against their will, these are some of the stories we have been made to watch over and over in mediums all over the world,other countries doing something about this vice while the rest sit back and do nothing. Kenya ,one of the countries with high cases of this vice has now decided to do something about it. Through nominated Mp Milly Odhiambo,The Counter-trafficking In persons Bill,2010 borrowed from the Children Act 2001 will this week be passed to not only protect the human trafficking but also the under-age kid. Under this bill,employees found with under-age girls as house maids,the parents or guardians who offer their kids for employment or marriage,persons that lure girls outside the country on the promise of job only for them to lead a life of sexual exploitation or any other form of slavery?well if you fall under this category you will be held liable. The punishment is simple serve a 15 year jail term or alternatively pay a fine of 15million Kenyan shillings.Personally this is simple, its about respecting the rights of every single human being around you and i have to applaud the Mps for this beautiful move,i hope it becomes a law sooner than later!
